The Jackie Mitchell Story

For his final project in a film class, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga undergraduate student Andy Page documented the amazing story of Jackie Mitchell striking out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. In this eight minute documentary, Andy chronicles the origin of Joe Engel's most famous stunt and how much it meant to baseball, women, and Chattanooga. Contributing to this must see documentary is author of The Chattanooga Lookouts & 100 Years of Scenic City Baseball Steve Martini, author of Baseball in Chattanooga David Jenkins, and Executive Director of The Engel Foundation Janna Jahn.

We invite all fans of history and baseball to watch this terrific documentary below chronicling one of the most inspiring stories in baseball; a 17-year old girl striking out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. We greatly appreciate Andy for allowing us to share this with you!
